A foundation staff member, Rae has steadily risen from her initial technician role, through team leadership of our serology capability, to her combined responsibilities as Laboratory and R&D Manager. Her involvement at the bench included time spent in each department and this has equipped her very well for the leadership roles she now holds. A key area of test development and validation within her R&D portfolio has been to lead the development of NZVP’s molecular diagnostic capabilities. Success in these endeavours has been largely due to Rae’s tremendous collaborative skills that have seen her bring together our pathologists and others within NZVP as well as forming strong relationships with many individuals from external partners.

Armed with a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree from Massey University, Rae specialises in both serology and microbiology. A true team player, she is widely respected throughout the diagnostic and research sectors.
