It is with great pleasure and pride we can announce that through an alliance with IDEXX Laboratories we can now offer Specific Pancreatic Lipase Testing for both cats and dogs. This is the first time these tests have been available in New Zealand. Veterinarians around the world take these tests that form a routine part of their diagnostic process for granted. Now our veterinary profession has access to the benefits of the specific results provided at a cost and within a turnaround time that no longer excludes the use of these tests.

This is possible due to the alliance that NZVP has entered into with IDEXX Laboratories. IDEXX are a dedicated veterinary diagnostic company that operates throughout the world without having a presence in New Zealand. This is a world first where they are allowing their proprietary test to be conducted in another laboratory. Their American-based Director of Laboratory Operations and Australian-based Australasian General Manager both visited NZVP earlier in the year. The fine tooth comb was put through our facilities, systems and people before the deal was signed off.

Our validation work has been completed and these tests are now available on both a stand alone basis and as part of Sick Animal and Mini panels. If veterinarians wish to add the test to an initial panel, we will invoice the balance of the panel price as opposed to a stand alone charge.
